Buddy Walk 2009

It was a gloomy day, but there was a great turn-out for the Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome at Delco Park. Afterward, we took out families to LaRosa's for pizza...it's become a yearly tradition.

Our team was able to raise over $1200 for this wonderful cause. It's not very common, but our family has been blessed twice with Down syndrome...first with my niece, Kayla, and then with our daughter, Emmaline. I can't even imagine what life would be like without them. If you'd like to donate to help Emmaline, Kayla, and other with Ds, please click HERE to go to our secure team website. Thanks for your prayers and support during these first 2 1/2 years of Emmaline's life. We wouldn't have made it this far without you!

Camping at Uncle David's

Nathan's brother and his fiancee live out on a farm about 30 minutes from us. It has 70+ acres and a pond, so Nathan and Jacob went there to camp. They fished, saw all the farm animals, cooked over the camp fire, and enjoyed being closer to nature.

Easter with the Curleys

After church, we went to celebrate Easter with Nathan's family. We enjoyed yummy brunch fare (complete with my homemade cinnamon rolls) and then the kids had another egg hunt. Everyone was worn out by the time we got home...what a busy weekend!

Trick-or-Treat 2008

Following our yearly tradition, we had our parents, Nathan's grandparents, and our brothers over for an evening of festivities. We ate dinner, and then, Nathan and David took Jacob and Ellie trick-or-treating around the neighborhood while the rest of us stayed back at the house to pass out candy and entertain Emmaline. She still wasn't feeling that great, so we kept her inside for the most part. Jacob and Ellie came back with lots of candy which I have been enjoying way too much.

We borrowed Emmy's costume from a friend. It cracked me up because it had a stinger on the back to complete the bumble bee look.

Jacob also went as "Bumble Bee" from the Transformers

Gabrielle was the cutest "Snow White" I've ever seen.

Buddy Walk 2008

Today was the 2008 Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome. Our team, Curley Crew, walked in honor of our daughter, Emmaline, and my neice, Kayla. The kids had fun playing with friends and although cool, the day turned out to be perfect for walking. Afterwards, we took everyone to LaRosa's for pizza. We want to thank our friends and family for joining us today to honor our littlest one. What a blessing Emmy is!

Celebrating Grandma's Birthday

Nathan's mom's birthday was on Friday, so we met at LaRosa's for lunch today after church to celebrate. His dad has been sick for a month, but was finally given the okay last week to be around people again. The kids were so excited to see Papaw Kevin and sit by him at lunch (unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of that!).
