Poor Emmaline...she has not been sleeping well (and neither has Mommy!). Part of it has to do with teething. Unlike most kids, she didn't get the luxury of getting some smaller teeth in before she went all out and got her one-year molars. They say the farther back in the mouth the teeth are, the more they hurt and with Emmaline, I'd have to agree. Another contributing factor to her poor sleep lately is that she occasionally misses her nap. She only naps in the afternoon and usually sleeps from 1-5 pm. Yeah for Mommy because I get a big block on time to get stuff done around the house and to spend with Jacob and Ellie. Unfortunately, on Nathan's days off we are usually out running errands during her prime nap time. Yesterday Nathan took Jacob to something in Columbus, so Ellie, Emmaline, and I spent a "girls' day" with my mom running errands. We hit Traders Joe's, Toys 'R Us, Hobby Lobby, the health food store, and Frisch's (we had to eat sometime!). Both girls were so well behaved, but they only caught cat naps in the van. Not a big deal for Gabrielle because she hasn't napped for over a year, but this isn't good for Emmy. She went to bed around 8 pm last night and then got up at 1:30, 2:30, 4, and 6 this morning. Nathan, thankfully, took her downstairs when she got up at 6 so she could play and not bother those of us that were still trying to sleep before we needed to get ready for church. Apparently, Emmaline was still tired though, because she fell asleep in her exersaucer. Not the most comfortable place to sleep, but I guess you take what you can get.
